Needlepoint Academy

Vicky Goodrum has developed a rolling year of technique classes that benefit stitchers at whatever point in their
journey. 

Ever wonder why your stitching is distorted? Why your threads pull out? Is compensation an issue? Learn the whys and hows in this series of classes! 

You'll learn to read a stitch guide and prepare for taking more complicated embellishment classes.  Build the tools you need to get the confidence to choose your own decorative stitches for your projects.

Needlepoint Academy: Technique Classes

Elevate your confidence & skill level with Vicky’s technique classes!

How To Register:

  • Choose a Saturday afternoon session (all 1pm - 4pm) from the available dates.
  • Tip: Technique classes are offered in the afternoon, following sessions of the Beginner and Intermediate class days. After completing Beginner 101, you can take Technique classes independently or pair with an Academy class in the morning for a full day of stitching!
The Class Experience

Extend your learning and apply your growing skills to specific techniques such as:  leaves, fur, hair, beards, knots, etc.  The techniques will be stitched on blank canvas mounted on stretcher bars.  If you would like to bring a painted canvas in your stash, this would be a great opportunity to put your learning into practice. Feel free to bring your own threads also, especially ones you’re unsure how to use.  To qualify for this class, you must have already taken the Beginner 1 class or be able to strand threads
and stitch Basketweave correctly. In each session threads and stitches will be
chosen for the techniques and top of the particular class.  Supplies $28.

Location & Directions

Vicky's classes are held on-site at Stitching Fox in Landrum, South Carolina. We are located at 22349 Asheville Hwy., Landrum, SC 29356.

Costs & FAQ

Class fee of $100 per person per session, includes 3 hours of instruction. A $28 class supply kit will be reserved for you for purchase before class begins
